When Last did you Hug or Kiss your Child?

When Last did you Hug or Kiss your Child?

Assalum U Allaikum Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

I pray this post meets us all with good health and strong emaan Inshah Allah.

I ran into a stranger as she passed by, "Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
she said, "Please excuse me too; I wasnt watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.

We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken. I didnt realize how harshly I had spoken.

While I lay awake in bed, a still small voice came to me and said, "While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor, You will find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue. He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.

"By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall. I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"

He smiled, "I found them out by the tree. I picked them because they are pretty like you. I knew you would like them, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I am very sorry for the way I acted today; I should not have yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh, Mom, thats okay. I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

Hadith, narrated by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim: "The Messenger of Allah (Sallahu Alaihee Wasallam) kissed Hasan bin Alee and Al-Aqra bin Haabis sitting with him.So Al-Aqra said:"Indeed I have 10 children and I have not kissed any of them."

So the Messenger of Allah [Sallahu Alaihee Wasallam] looked at him and said:"Whoever does not have mercy, would not be given any mercy."

This hadith shows us that whoever does not have mercy towards young children, then he himself would be prevented from receiving any mercy.

This is because the rewards and recompense of actions are based upon and will be the same as the type of action that is done.

As comes in another Hadith: "Have mercy on those on the earth The One in the Heaven will have mercy on you."

In our hectic lives and in trying to realise our materialistic ambitions let us not be oblivious to those who are truly near and dear to us.

To most people you are just a number to someone you may mean the world!

So... honestly,When LAST DID YOU KISS OR HUG your child ???

May Allah aza wah jall make it easy for us and grant us mercy as we have mercy upon all our loved ones and especially our own... children.

May Allah aza wah jall make it easy for us to be patient with our loved ones, to gain balance in life with work, issues of the world around us, family matters and other such and similar factors that gains and places un-needed stress onto us... So often it is easier to vent our hurt and frustration on the ones that loves us most, yet still we are kind, patient and gentle with strangers (non family and mere acquaintances).

Jazak Allah Khair for taking to read and comment

I got a confession to make. I am food addict, over-indulgent! I crave for anything especially sweets, chocolates, cakes, ice cream, strawberries, halo-halo, leche flan, banana Q, breads, pasta, Nasi Goreng....tell me what you got in your fridge ;-D. Thank heavens for I got my mum's genes, I can gain and lose pounds that easy and quick. I am here to share with you my food recipe collection (almost forgotten in a corner of my room) and search for new, exciting recipes, meet good people, and discover more about the world of baking. I am no professional baker or chef (just a wanna-be for now) but we'll get there in time. In sha Allah. Afterall, DREAMS just got to start somewhere, and it starts right here, right now!
