The Route of PatienceWhenever Allah gives a blessing to a
servant, and then takes it back from him, and the servant patiently
endures his loss, then He rewards him with a blessing which is better
than the one which He took back. - Umar ibn Abdal-Aziz
“And
certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of
wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to as-Saabireen (the
patient ones). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Inna lillaahi
wa Inna Ilaihi Raaji’un (Verily to Allah we belong and verily, to Him we
shall return).” They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are
blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who)
receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.”
(Al-Baqarah,2:155-157)
“Nay, seek (Allah’s) help with patient
perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a
lowly spirit, Who bear in mind the certainty that they are to meet their
Lord, and that they are to return to Him. ” [Al-Baqarah,2:45-46]
