Cookie Christmas Gifts – Christmas Cheer Cookies

Cookie Christmas Gifts – Christmas Cheer Cookies

Produces approximately 72

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pound dates, chopped
1 pound walnuts, chopped
1/2 pound golden raisins
1/2 cup whisky
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and cut in halves

Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream the butter and sugar together, this does need to be light and fluffy. Add the three eggs in to the mix. Beat until every one of the ingredients are mixed together. Add the flour and also the soda then stir in the dates, walnuts, raisins and whisky.

The batter must be stiff by now. Drop the mixture using a teaspoon on to an ungreased cookie sheet. Top every one with one with cherry halves. Then finally bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cover the bottom of the cookie Christmas basket or box with tissue or kitchen roll. This doesn’t just give a nice base to put your cookie Christmas gifts on but it will also fill any gaps. A centre piece for your cookie Christmas gift can found quite quickly and cheaply by browsing around the shops or maybe you might even have some thing acceptable within your home. Not long ago I used decorative candles in the form of a snowman and Santa which were extremely effective and cost very little.

Position the gift cookies either is cellophane bags or protect with cling film. Set up your gift cookies within a prepared basket along with your centre piece. Include a pretty ribbon bow as well as a gift tag and the cookie Christmas gift is ready for delivery.

I got a confession to make. I am food addict, over-indulgent! I crave for anything especially sweets, chocolates, cakes, ice cream, strawberries, halo-halo, leche flan, banana Q, breads, pasta, Nasi Goreng....tell me what you got in your fridge ;-D. Thank heavens for I got my mum's genes, I can gain and lose pounds that easy and quick. I am here to share with you my food recipe collection (almost forgotten in a corner of my room) and search for new, exciting recipes, meet good people, and discover more about the world of baking. I am no professional baker or chef (just a wanna-be for now) but we'll get there in time. In sha Allah. Afterall, DREAMS just got to start somewhere, and it starts right here, right now! Meantime enjoy this food journey with me among other stuff....amigos to the kitchen! [Thank you for visiting my blog, you're always welcome to come by! Feel free to dig deep into the posts, much treasures there. And leave your comments, I'd appreciate your words....] [P.S. Borrowed articles/photos can be deleted anytime, please advise.Thank you.]
